B
Bit Rate or BPS (Bits Per Second)
The amount of data (bits) being transferred in one second. In streaming, speeds are generally measured by kbps (1,000 bits per second).
Bandwidth
The amount of data that can be sent over a connection in a given amount of time.
Browser
A browser is a program on your computer (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, etc...) which gives you access to the internet to view websites.
C
Capturing
The process of transferring recorded video from a video camera or other video recording devices (such as a cellphone), to a computer. There are many kinds of computer software programs that can be used to capture the video and then used for post-production.
Channel
A channel is similar to a station on your TV that contains a list of video playlists that are related or grouped together to play in a specified order.
Codec
A codec is any technology for compressing and decompressing data. Codecs can be implemented in software, hardware or a combination of both. Some popular codecs are MPEG, H.264, FFmpeg, MPEG-4.
Compressed
Compressed files are regular files that have been "squeezed" to make them a smaller file size for easier storage.
Corrupt File/Video
Corrupted files are computer files that suddenly become inoperable or unusable. It may occur due to a defect or bug in the software used to create and manipulate the file in question.
Content Delivery Network (CDN)
Is an interconnected system of computers on the Internet that provides Web content rapidly to numerous users by duplicating the content on multiple servers and directing the content to users based on proximity.

Dialog Box
A box, called up temporarily on the screen that asks for user input or displays information.
Download
The process of transferring data from a hosted server down to a local computer or connected device through the internet. When you copy a file from a website on the internet to your computer or connected device you are now "downloading" that file.
E
Embed
Placing a video player within the body of a website. Instead of a link to separate pop-up window, embedding places the video directly onto the site in a small box window.
Encode
The process of compressing and converting audio and video to meet proper formats and specifications for recording and playback.
Encoding Options
The number of speeds and file formats available for encoding.
F
File Transfer Protocol (FTP) Client
Software that allows a user to upload (video) files from their local computer to a hosted server. Common FTP software includes Filezilla and Cyberduck.
Firewire
A common cable connection between video cameras and computer capture cards.
Flash Media Live Encoder
Live audio and video capture software is a media encoder that streams audio and video in real time to Flash Media Server software or Flash Video Streaming Service.
Formats
The compression method of a video file. Common video formats are .mov, .avi, .mp4, and .wmv.

GB (Gigabyte)
A measurement of file size, 1GB equals 1 Billion Bytes or 1024 MB
H
Html
Hyper Text Markup Language. HTML is widely used internet website language. It is used to develop web pages.
I
Interface
The customizable video player that the viewer interacts with to watch the user's videos.
IP address
Internet Protocol Address, a unique identifier for any computer on the Internet.

Javascript Link
A more complex linking code to a playlist, requires some technical knowledge to implement on a user's website.
.jpg
A jpg or JPEG, is a common form for a compressed photo image. Most of the pictures you see on the Internet, and most digital cameras use the JPEG format. Interestingly JPEG stands for the Joint Photographic Experts Group

Linking Codes
Created in the Media Control Center, linking codes are used to physically get the video to the user's website. Users copy the code into their websites coding to link to a player, playlist, and video
Live Streaming
Capturing, encoding, and hosting an event for live viewing over the Internet. A strong Internet connection is necessary to maintain picture quality and to avoid breaks or delays in the stream. Live events can also be archived for viewing on demand.
M
Media Control Center (MCC)
ClickStreamTV's browser based administrative dashboard that houses all your videos and from one place gives you the convenience to manage your content such as uploading, encoding, linking, and view statistical data for the user's video files.
Megabyte (MB)
A measurement of file size, 1 MB equals 1024 kilobytes.
O
On Demand
The ability for a viewer to watch a video whenever they click a link for it. The file is ready to be streamed when the viewer is ready.
P
Pay Per View
Videos that require a credit card payment to view. The user sets the price and keeps the profit.
Payment Gateway
A payment gateway is the Internets version of a credit card terminal. The payment gateway provides the tools to process payments between customers, businesses and banks.
Portable Document File. This file allows a user to transmit information from computer to computer for review without having to worry about font or photo issues. PDF files appear on the reader's screen exactly as did on the designer's screen.
Playlist
A list of videos that are related or grouped together to play in a specified order.
Publishing Point
Used in Live Streaming, this is the location where the user sends their video feed to be translated that is then sent to a hosting service from a live event for broadcasting. The Publishing Point is then put on a playlist, linked to a website or e-mail, and viewer's will eventually see the live stream through it.

Random Access Memory (RAM)
Memory that is used temporarily by software to process larger tasks. Devices with more RAM can run more complex software and multiple applications at the same time while delivering faster response time.
S
Secure Log In
A ClickStreamTV product that allows users to restrict and monitor who has access to their videos. Viewers must have been issued a username and password to access videos. This product is perfect for businesses working within their own company to show in house videos or training.
Simple Link
An easy to use linking code for a video playlist or file that any user can implement into their website.
SMB
Small to Medium Sized Businesses
Speeds
The rate of bandwidth when sending or delivering data.
Statistics
Numerical or device data on system users and content.
Streaming
Playing audio and video over the Internet, without the viewer ever downloading the file. The browser and the video player work to read and play the video file, while the viewer watches in real time.
T
Thumbnail
A small image that represents a video file, usually seen on the button that is clicked to open the video. Often the thumbnail image is a still from the video it corresponds to.
U
Uncompressed
A native file prior to any type of compression/formatting.
Upload
The process of transferring data (video files) from a local computer up to a server for publishing on the web.
URL
URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator, and is the global address for resources on the World Wide Web.
USB
USB stands for Universal Serial Bus. USB is a port on your PC. Most plug in and play devices today use the USB technology. USB is a mainstream connector type, designed to phase out older connection methods for computer peripherals.

An unlimited free service offered by ClickStreamTV that is a complete solution for sending emails with video attachments. Video email allows users to send promotional e-mail blasts to their contacts with links to videos and promotional PDF's.
